Our recently refurbished ‘casita’ (little house) has been lovingly renovated incorporating comfort and modern conveniences while ensuring its original rustic charm and character are maintained. It’s situated in a quiet corner, only a short (but steep) walk from Competa’s main village square. Tapas bars, restaurants and shops are all within a couple of minutes walk.

The cosy sitting room with original floor tiles, has a comfy sofa, TV and video and a dining area for two. The small but beautifully formed kitchen is equipped with a full size cooker with ceramic hob, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster and kettle.

Upstairs there is a double bedroom with ensuite shower room. Further stairs lead to a private roof terrace and utility room with washing machine. The terrace affords breathtaking views of the village and surrounding countryside, extending down to the Mediterranean. On a clear day it’s possible to see the distant shores of Africa while enjoying a glass (or two!) of the famed local wine. It’s absolutely perfect for romantic alfresco dining and is fully equipped with table, chairs and loungers.

The village of Competa is beautifully situated in the foothills of Sierra Almijara mountain range, on the border of the Sierra de Tejeda National Park. Being almost 700m above sea level stunning views abound. Competa is, however, only 16kms from the coast. Nerja, Malaga, Almunecar and Granada, as well as countless idyllic villages are within easy reach by car.

The steep, cobbled streets of Competa make virtually the whole village unsuitable for people with mobility problems, and for this reason we regrettably don’t recommend our house to people with such problems.
